Tomorrow, being the first Thursday in October, is National Poetry Day. This year’s theme, according to the website (and I’m not sure I was aware before that they had themes), is “Identity”.
I’ll be endeavouring to join in by posting a poem on my blog, as I did in 2004 and 2005. If you’re a blogger, feel free to join in.
Another quick plug for Nick Barlow’s walk. Five weeks since I joined him on the stretch from Linlithgow to Edinburgh, long-time blogger Nick has arrived in Cornwall, and is due to arrive at Land’s End on Saturday afternoon.
It’s not just for the exercise – Nick’s raising money for the Brain Research Trust. He’s passed the thousand pound mark online, and you can help make his trek even more worthwhile by chipping in.
Thank you to everyone who was so complimentary about my Webcameron pastiche. You may come to regret it though: rather than doing the sensible thing – modestly acknowledging the praise and quietly retiring from the video scene while a success – I’m afraid the muse took hold and I couldn’t resist getting the camera out again. Prepare yourselves…
If you’d prefer, you can also watch it on Google Video.
Here’s a new blog roundup for Sundays: the Scottish Blogging Roundup, bringing together posts with a particular focus on Scottish politics. It’s brought to you by longstanding Scottish political bloggers doctorvee and Curious Hamster.
