Bank: Computer says No! Nov 10

Bank: Computer says No! Remember, kids: don’t have nightmares.

Hip to the beat Nov 10

In a break with recent programming tradition, Channel 4 have done a poll on something. This time it’s the greatest live gigs. Ever. I recall there was barnstorming rendition of Greensleeves in the 16th century – shockingly that’s been omitted from this list.

Having discovered I’m terribly unfashionable as I own nothing by anyone in the top 8 biggest UK album sellers since 2000 (erroneously labelled “of the 21st century”), I’m pleased to be able to state that I was actually present for one of the top 10 greatest gigs. My age dictates that it was number 10: Radiohead at Glasonbury in 1997.

From our phone correspondent Nov 10

Rather than cheering the defeat of the PM’s plain to lock people up for three months without charge, I thought I’d share a couple of text messages I received on the subject.

Ha, gordon n' jack needn't of dashed back

Straw and Brown’s flights back and McCartney’s heroic visit from hospital merely saved the Government from losing by a slightly larger margin. And I bet it was the taxpayer who funded those extra international flights.

How comes doing what coppers want is 'listening to those who know best' but listening to teachers or nurses is 'submitting to producer interests'?

Good question.
